Outgrow

Terms of use

Last updated September 11, 2026. Outgrow Studios, LLC.

These terms are an agreement between you and Outgrow Studios, LLC (“Outgrow”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Outgrow app. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Who can use Outgrow. You must be 18 or older. The app is about quitting nicotine, pornography or alcohol, and it refers to tobacco and nicotine products, to pornography, and to alcohol. It is not made for or offered to anyone under 18.

What Outgrow is, and is not. Outgrow is a self-help tool: it counts days, money and cravings, shows your progress, and offers short lessons and a conversational coach about quitting nicotine, pornography or alcohol. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified professional. Health milestones and lesson content describe population-level findings and are not a promise about your body. Nicotine replacement and prescription options exist and work for many people; decisions about them belong to you and a professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line straight away.

The coach. The coach answers questions about quitting nicotine, pornography or alcohol, and nothing else. Its replies are generated by an automated language model and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Do not rely on it for medical, legal or emergency guidance. Messages you send to the coach are processed as described in the privacy policy.

Your account. Outgrow works without an account. On first launch the app creates an anonymous identifier so that purchases and the coach’s daily limits can be tied to your device. You are responsible for the device you use the app on.

Subscriptions and purchases. Outgrow is a paid subscription purchased through Apple’s App Store. There are two plans, Monthly and Yearly, and both begin with a 3-day free trial. Prices are shown in the app before you start a trial. You will not be charged during the trial; at its end the plan converts to a paid subscription and renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings. If your subscription ends, the app returns you to the plan screen and your data stays on your device until you subscribe again or delete the app. Billing, refunds and cancellation are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms, not by us; we cannot issue refunds directly. You can restore purchases on a new device from the plan screen or Settings.

What you may not do. Do not use the app in a way that is unlawful, that interferes with the app or its services, that attempts to bypass paid features or daily limits, or that reverse engineers the app except where the law allows it. Do not use the coach to generate content that is unlawful or harmful.

Your content. What you write in the app (reasons, notes, entries, coach messages) is yours. You give us the limited permission we need to store and process it so the app can work, as set out in the privacy policy, and nothing more.

Our content. The app, its design, text, illustrations, lessons and software belong to Outgrow or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple’s App Store rules.

Availability and changes. We may change, suspend or stop the app or any feature, including the coach, at any time. We try to keep the app working but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will tell you in the app or by another reasonable means, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimer. To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. You use the app at your own risk, and your progress in quitting depends on you.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Outgrow and its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, health outcomes or lost profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.

Ending things. You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limits on liability, governing law) survive.

Apple. These terms are between you and Outgrow, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support or maintain the app and is not responsible for any claim about it, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Where the law lets us choose, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
